Ester Huang, Core Contributor of Voyager One, takes the stage at #EDCON2023 and introduces Voyager One and its path to community and public good. Ester says the founder of Voyager One got involved with the Ethereum ecosystem in 2016 and inspired by Ethereum’s ambition to be the World Computer, he started the first blockchain R &D team in Tencent and built enterprise-level blockchain products in Tencent. And then in 2019, he started his early exploration of on-chain gaming. She points out that in 2019, Vitalik was invited to the headquarter of Tencent in Shenzhen to introduce Ethereum to Tencent developers, and after all this community engagement, more and more users and colleagues, and developers became more interested in Ethereum and joined their community. To boost the momentum, her team started to do some educational stuff among leading tech companies in China and wrote tutorial articles and videos, and spread them in the internal forums of leading companies like Tencent and China Telecom.

Ester says the Voyager One team is home to talents previously from several leading IT companies, including the founding member and core developer of Tencent Blockchain, an architect from China Telecom Cloud, and a security professional from the 2nd largest e-commerce company in China. This is a group of people who share a great passion for crypto and Ethereum. Ester goes on to say that her team came across a lot of difficulties when doing education among those big tech companies in China, and many of the products were presented under the consortium blockchain architecture. She also introduces her team’s first public good product: ethupgrade.io, which is a tool for Ethereum & Layer 2 upgrade education and network status monitoring. And apart from the public good aspect, Voyager One is also helping Web2 and traditional businesses and startups to get on board with Ethereum by equipping them with a deep understanding of the development of Ethereum, and better secure these businesses with Ethereum-based security and transparency, as well as provide Web3 native solutions for traditional use cases & applications.
